iGEM La Verne- Boston or Bust!
The La Verne Leos are the first iGEM team from the University of La Verne. iGEM stands for the International Genetically Engineered Machine, a premiere student competition showcasing biosynthetic projects from around the world. The iGEM competition encourages student researchers to work in teams and attempt to solve real-world challenges by building genetically engineered biological systems. Each iGEM team works throughout the summer to develop their own project. Our research aims to improve the use of algae as a renewable energy source known as biofuel. We will present the results of our research at the Giant Jamboree in Boston along with 280 other teams. Help us get to the Giant Jamboree so we can have the opportunity to present our research in Boston in the fall. Your support will help us pay for conference fees and travel costs.
