ALLEGRO Choral Funding Initiative
The University of La Verne Choral Music Program seeks to promote excellence in vocal music within the local and global community. Choral music has been active on the La Verne campus since it opened its doors in 1891, offering students leadership and music scholarship opportunities. Today, the program is home to many first generation college students from a wide variety of disciplines. This year has been a landmark year for the choral program as the program’s enrollment has increased more than EIGHT times over last year.
However, with more than 58 students in the program, the cost of sheet music can be very expensive. One piece of sheet music costs approximately $5. We typically perform 12-14 pieces in one concert. Multiply 5x12x58 that runs our program more than $3000 in sheet music costs for just one of our many concerts in the semester. We want to be able to continue providing quality music and entertainment to the community while providing enriching learning opportunities for the students involved. We need sheet music to give our choir a voice. Thank you in advance for considering our special request.
